Commenting on behalf of the organisation

SRP welcomes the opportunity to comment on the timely document which brings together the considerations of ethics in relation to radiological protection in medical diagnosis and treatment.

The attached exec file provides the detailed comments. However generally the document seemed to be rather long and could be shortened somewhat without losing anything by making reference to pages/tables etc in other published material and not reproducing the text/tables. There is also a lot of repetition within the document. Some chapters consist mainly of extracts from other documents eg Chapters 3 and 4. It may be easier for the reader, particularly healthcare professionals with existing knowledge if only the key messages were used with very brief supporting text and the chapters put in appendices at the end. Also it might be useful to group all the key messages together in one place so that they can easily be extracted and implemented by organisations.
